Bruno Mars
It's better if you don't understand; just listen and have a good time. That's the response Bruno Mars will give you with a smile when asked to describe his sound and music. He would much rather sing, perform, and write his songs than talk about them, but that is becoming more and more unavoidable these days. It might seem that Mars appeared out of nowhere, co-writing, producing and performing on B.o.B's #1 "Nothin' On You" followed by Travie McCoy's chart-climbing "Billionaire", but he makes one thing clear: "It's not an overnight success".
Mars is a multitalented singer, songwriter, producer and musician who feels most at home when he's performing. Born to a musical family in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was practically raised on the stage. His father, a Latin percussionist from Brooklyn, organized a Vegas-style revue that featured the entire family, including his mother, a talented vocalist. When a four-year-old Mars observed his family performing Motown hits, doo-wop medleys and impersonations for enthusiastic crowds all over his native Waikiki Beach, "I was jealous!" says Mars with a laugh. "My dad put me on stage and I remember singing an Elvis song and that was it. Ever since that moment, I've been addicted."
Rich in diverse music from all over the globe, Honolulu was an exciting hometown for the budding singer/songwriter. On one end of the spectrum, his home was filled with the 1950s classics that were his father's passion. Meanwhile, the city is rich in traditional sounds, including reggae, rock and folk music, as well as the latest pop hits. "Hawaii is basically in the middle of the world, so you're exposed to every type of music over there," explains Mars.
As soon as he graduated high school, Mars left Hawaii for Los Angeles with dreams of launching his career as a performer. Those dreams got put on hold, however, when The Smeezingtons, the songwriting/production team he founded with Philip Lawrence and Ari Levine, suddenly took off. The pair has crafted major hits for a diverse roster of talent, including Flo Rida's "Right Round", Travie McCoy's "Billionaire", Brandy's "Long Distance" and K'Naan's "Waving Flags", which is the theme song for the 2010 World Cup.
Mars describes his time behind the scenes as important to his development as an artist. "I realized that you have to go into this industry as an artist with a clear vision and understanding of who you are. Being so young when I was first signed, I never really had a sense of who I wanted to be. Now things are really working out because everything that I'm singing, writing and composing is really me."
On the heels of "Nothin' on You" and "Billionaire" and as a preview of what's to come from Bruno Mars, Elektra Records is releasing a 4-song EP aptly titled "It's Better If You Don't Understand". The title is taken from a lyric to "The Other Side"; one of the songs included that features Cee-Lo Green and re-teams Mars with B.o.B. The song depicts the musician's current routine. "It's basically a story of the lifestyle you end up living as an artist and how I would describe it to a girl I just met to try and explain, but in the end… It's better if you don't understand."
When asked to describe the music he's about to release Mars says "it's hard to put myself in a box. I just write songs that I strongly believe in and that are coming from inside. There's no tricks. It's honesty with big melodies. And I'm going to be singing the s— out of them." The collection of songs on the EP are written from various real-life experiences, where Mars blends his buoyant voice with purposefully simple production. All of the songs are produced and written with his Smeezingtons partner Philip Lawrence.
Although he's incredibly proud of the recordings, Mars feels the best way to experience the sound is to see him perform live with his band. "That is what I'm most excited for – taking these songs and traveling them around the world." The only place he would rather be than in the recording studio, is with his band on stage – where he grew up. "I think people are really going to gravitate towards the live show. We turn it into a party."

Katy Perry Travels Through India

Katy Perry follows Lady Gaga's lead. Perry was seen in Delhi bonding with Bollywood super star Priyanka Chopra the day after her performance at India's IPL opening night. The two caught up on their girl talk over lunch while Perry also provided Priyanka with some advice on her upcoming international album. The two are rumored to be collaborating together in the near future.

Katy rocks traditional Indian inspired garb.
The 'Firework' singer hit the streets in a floral jumper, orange Hermes bracelet, and signiture blue hair.

Off to the shops! Katy and Priyanka hit the road taking a yellow rickshaw ride.

When Katy Perry started out, she had a blonde bob, sang Christian music and went by the name Katy Hudson. Before becoming the pop princess she is today, the "Teenage Dream" star went through a punk phase, dying her hair black and scoring a slot on the Warped Tour. In her video for "The Box," Katheryn (not yet Katy) Perry shows off her angst and a lot of black eyeliner. Oddly, cupcake bras and personified gummy bears are nowhere to be seen.

Following in the footsteps of Justin BieberSelena GomezAshley Tisdale and teenagers everywhere, Katy Perry and friends recorded their own version of "Call Me Maybe" this weekend.

Showing off her newly-purple ombre hair, the pop star jokes around with pals in the video, dancing and singing to Carly Rae Jepsen's viral hit. Her video is hilariously similar to the one made by Bieber and pals -- which has more than 33 million views on YouTube. Halfway through, Perry even takes the camera and starts calling out direction, showing that she is more-than-familiar with Bieber's version.

There are slick dance movies, iPhones and inflatable monkeys in Perry's poolside cover, which found its way online thanks to one of her friends. At the end, following a chorus of "Coachella!" cheers, Perry takes the camera and croons, "We love you Justin Bieber!"

One Direction Live: Shriek Show in Australia

One Direction mania spilled into central Brisbane on Wednesday, as the boy-band from Britain closed their mini-tour of Australia with a show that sent its female audience into a teary, screaming frenzy.

To say 1D is the hottest boy-band on the scene, doesn't quite grasp the situation. "On fire" is closer to the mark. The five "X-Factor" U.K. alumni -- Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik - are scorching sales charts and box offices around the globe.

ONE DIRECTION FAN?

The picture is the same Down Under, where the group's debut "Up All Night" is double-platinum certified and is sitting at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second week. Their debut single, "What Makes You Beautiful" is currently four-times platinum, one of the group's two tracks in the Australian top-10.

Wednesday was the last of four east coast dates, the lads having earlier visited Sydney (twice) and Melbourne. They've only one album of material to their name, but tonight they squeezed out an 80-minute set, padded-out with a few covers and some confident, well-rehearsed banter.

At the top of the show, a visual of beaches and summer fun warmed the stage before One Direction leapt into "Na Na Na," "Stand Up" and "I Wish." Three songs in, and the group got to working covers, from Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" to "Torn," a track made famous by Natalie Imbruglia in the late '90s and more recently when the group tackled it on X-Factor back in 2010.

"Being in Australia keeps getting better and better," Louis told the screaming masses, before informing them that he'd been in the surf that morning. If Louis had mentioned what he'd had for breakfast, that too would have been met with deafening squeals.

There was simply no way this group could fail.

Hysteria has followed them since they arrived in the country, and this concert served as a mass outpouring of delirium. The crowd, almost entirely comprised of teenage girls, was absolutely wired, fanatical. From the opening support act, the 5,000-plus capacity room created a noise so fierce, it would've drowned out most machines the industrial age came up with.

"You guys are loud," Harry told the audience. Earlier, opening act Justice Crew's E-man told the fans they were the noisiest of this tour. And they set out to prove it, time and again.

With the screaming came the tears. A lot of tears. The Convention Centre hasn't taken on so much water since the Brisbane floods of January 2011.

For 80 minutes, the young pop stars sang and twirled, and winked at their love-struck fans in the best seats. It was all slick, clean fun, the audience a colorful caldron of glowsticks and white "One Direction" t-shirts, lapped it all up.  Some came kitted-out in British and Irish flags, others wielded signs. A 10-year-old hoisted one which read, "One Direction Marry Me," and another mid-teen vowed, "I'm only here because you stole my heart." None were more naughty than a sign up front, its young female owner having written, "I'll Give U 1 Erection."

The hits "One Thing" and "What Makes You Beautiful" came late in the set. After an encore of "I Want", showtime came to a halt at 10.15pm, not a bad result for a school night. The five reality-TV stars waved goodbye to their over-whelmed fans, promising a larger tour in 2013.

Next time, they'll need bigger venues. Tonight's show sold-out in just 50 seconds. If the date was held across town at the 12,000 capacity Brisbane Entertainment Centre, no doubt it would've gone in 60 seconds. Simon Cowell's hype machine is ticking away to perfection.

The group now move on to New Zealand, where they play Auckland on Saturday and Wellington on Sunday. When 1D rolls into an arena near you, just remember to bring your ear plugs.

Lady Gaga Announces European 'Born This Way' Tour Dates

The European leg of Lady Gaga's Born This Way Ball is set to kick off August 14 in Bulgaria, following a run of spring and summer dates through Asia and Australia. Tickets for the 21-date trek will go on sale later this month. Opening for Gaga on the European leg are British glamrock band The Darkness (of "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" fame) and DJ Lady Starlight.

The Born This Way Ball is in support of Gaga's latest album, 2011's "Born This Way," which topped the Billboard 200 and spent 42 weeks on the chart.

"The Haus of Gaga and I have worked for months conceiving a spectacular stage," Gaga said in a statement. "The Born This Way Ball is an electro-metal pop opera. The tale of the beginning, the genesis of the kingdom of fame. How we were birthed and how we will die celebrating."

Last week Gaga tweeted about the tour and it's elaborate set-up, which, judging by the Born This Way Ball poster, will be somewhat medieval. "After 1.5 months of grueling rehearsal the stage is now fully built and set up for the last three weeks of preparation. Took my breath away," she wrote.

Live Nation is again behind this tour, after steering most of Gaga's 2010-2011 "Monster Ball" tour, which grossed $188 million from 167 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.

The tour's European dates wrap Oct. 6 in Barcelona, Spain, at which point Gaga will presumably head to North America. U.S. dates for the 110-show tour are still to be announced

"when you come in my heart, my heart was fragile, you come at the wrong time"

because he loved me

When I was 12 years old, there is a guy who falls in love with me. he was 15 years old that time. First I knew him from my bestfriend, she fell in love with that guy, and she often shared stories about him to me. They often communicated via cell phone. One day on her birthday, she wanted me to ask him for his picture. I found that guy and immediately asked him his picture and he said "if you want my picture, we'd better take a picture" and I said "No,I don't want. that photo isn't for me but for my bestfriend" and he immediately gave me his photo. After that moment, he started to care at me, he liked to ask me about my situation. One day I knew him well, he asked me "do you want to be my girlfriend?" I said "I'm not allowed to have a boyfriend" he said "okay". But he still cared with me, and I began fall in love with him. One day I heard that he had a girlfriend, and that day he didn't care with me anymore. I cried for no reason. I really hoped he would love me again. I intend to forget all about him. After  nearly a year  I could forget about him and those memories, even though not all of them. Suddenly, one day he began to care at me again and I was very happy, he said he has been broken up with his girlfriend but the next day I heard that he made his relationship backed with his girlfriend. I cried, I couldn't explain my feelings using words. I though "so i'm just be your impingement?" I was desperate at that time. And from that moment I didn't want to love someone else.
